Smoking Cessation Program

Kick Butt is a unique approach to quitting smoking. The program is designed for those who have the desire to quit, but have been unsuccessful in the past. Smoking is one of the hardest vices to overcome because of all the elements linked to the habit. Stress, boredom, habitual behavior, chemical dependency, urges, cravings and social implications play a role in smoking and serve as obstacles that prevent many from being able to successfully eliminate this habit.

Most programs fail to address all of these elements, which lead to a high failure rate. Kick Butt addresses the factors you can’t control and teaches you how to overcome the barriers that present themselves in the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.

One must keep in mind that smoking cessation can only be obtained if there is a genuine desire to quit. If someone does not truly want to quit, no program can overcome that decision. However, if the true desire is there then the first obstacle is overcome and the rest can be accomplished with guidance, support and desire. Once you are ready to say good-bye to smoking let us help you Kick Butt and celebrate this next chapter of life.

Reasons to Quit Smoking

In the United States, an estimated 25.5 million men (24.1 percent) and 21.5 million women (19.2 percent) are smokers.

According to the American Cancer Society, some 3,000 adolescents start smoking every day. The Centers for Disease Control reports that the number of high school students who smoke has risen from 27.5 percent in 1991 to 34.8 percent in 1995 (May 1996).

Half of all teenagers who are currently smoking will die from diseases caused by tobacco if they continue to smoke.  One quarter will die after 70 years of age and one quarter before, with those dying before 70 losing on average 21 years of life.

Smoking is blamed for one out of every five deaths in the United States or about 419,000 deaths each year, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That toll is more than the combined number of deaths from alcohol, heroin, cocaine, suicide, homicide, motor vehicle accidents, fires and AIDS.

Worldwide, almost 5 million die prematurely each year as a result of smoking. Based on current trends, this will rise to 10 million within 20 years.

Acupuncture - Acupuncture is a powerful tool to help you quit smoking. Specific points on the body are related to stress management, anxiety control and reducing nicotine cravings. Eastern medicine approaches addictive behaviors differently than western healthcare. Acupuncture helps shut down areas of the body related to the mouth and lungs that lead to urges and the constant need to stimulate those cravings. This component is not addressed with other smoke cessation tools such as nicotine gum or patches.

Mind set - The psychological effects of smoking are usually harder to overcome than the chemical addiction to nicotine. Kick Butt will teach you the mindset you need to kick the habit. Learn how to cope with stress, escape the crutch of cigarettes and change your perception of smoking so you are in control and no longer a prisoner to addiction.
